“Welwyn Garden City Housing Association worked with Developing London re the small affordable housing element on the Clock House Gardens development, under a section 106 planning agreement.
Rarely would the association consider 106 acquisitions, as they so often disappoint re location, size and quality – but Clock House Gardens was the exception.
The thoughtful design, layout and in particular the size of the units, made then idea to include within our portfolio of shared ownership housing – aimed at first time buyers.
Such properties have to have not only the kerbside appeal -but allow the couples they are aimed at to become parents, with the space to grow, hence the size of the two bedroomed flats really appealed to us and of course the buyers.
Clayton was clearly passionate about good and thought out design, and the development as a whole, and was a pleasure to work with throughout the acquisition process accommodating changes bespoke to the association.
Our leaseholders are delighted with their award winning new homes – as is the housing association. “
